Lash Extension Review | Deka Lash

So I’m definitely a girls-girl, so I wanted to jump on here to tell y’all about my lash extension experience at Deka Lash. Or what I should say what were my lash extensions. At first I loved them; I had pretty much no irritation unlike the other ones I used to get. I’m not sure if it was the different glue that was used or the way they were put on but when I used to get them done, I would have swollen eyes and major irritation for about a week. This time was much better when it came to that which made the experience much smoother.

Unfortunately, after the third day which is when I started getting them wet, I was losing an alarming amount of extensions. I even waited roughly 70 hours before touching them. So I wasn’t sure what was causing them to come off especially considering I didn’t have this issue before. I was using the same basic face wash that I have always used and wasn’t using any eye makeup remover since I wasn’t putting any makeup on them.

Within four/five days I had roughly10 lash extensions left on my right eye and only probably half on my left. I ended up going back to Deka to get them filled in because I thought maybe it was just because it was my first set. I paid another like $80 to get them filled in and ended up running into the same issue again. The girl who was doing them was super nice and even offered for me to come back in to get them fixed for free but at this point I didn’t want to keep wasting my time and money. She said multiple people were having the same issue and that it could possibly be from the weather or the new glue that they were using. All in all I’m not sure what the issue was but I probably won’t be getting them done again. The Deka Lash I went to wash very clean and both times I went I was pretty much taken right at my appointment time so that was a nice plus. I really loved how they looked so I’m hoping if I maybe wait until fall they will stay on better. I’ll keep yall posted!

Favorite Fresh Mask Reviews

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask

Perfect for all skin types which is a must for me. It really helps with fine lines and wrinkles as well as elasticity. I love the smell of it and the way it leaves my face feeling soft and refreshed. I have very sensitive skin that can be either very dry or super oily and this mask helps with both.

Rose Face Mask

One of my favorite masks for hydration. Not only does it leave my face feeling refreshed but it also helps with redness and pore size. It is a cooling gel mask that is infused with actual rose petals. This mask is definitely a go-to mask for me!

Self Tanning 101

Self Tanning Q&A

I recently have had multiple people ask about my tanning routine so I figured I would do a short blog post on it. I am by no means a professional so take what I say with a grain of salt, this is just what works for me.

What is the product you use and does it turn you orange?

I used to use one of the tanning lotions from Jergens but I always ended up looking orange so I did some research and found the brand called St. Tropez. I have tried most of their tanning products and love them all. I am currently using the St. Topez Dark Bronzing Mousse. It never turns me orange and if applied properly leaves no streaks or blotches.

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse $44.00

How often do you use it?

I mostly use it when I know that I have plans for a weekend and want to look tan and not like a ghost. Occasionally I will just apply some on my upper body to wear tank tops or blouses that show more skin. I rarely use it in the summer though considering I am usually in the sun a lot.

How long does it last on your skin?

So with the mousse that I am currently using I noticed that it does last a little longer than the regular mousse that they make. I assume that it is because it applies darker which results in it taking longer to fade away. I would say it lasts 3-4 days.

Do you like any other self tanning products that are cheaper?

I personally only use the St. Tropez products because they never make me orange and they also last longer than other products that I have tried. If you didn’t want to splurge on the big bottle they do make smaller ones that are $18.

Happy Tuesday love bugs! Does anyone else feel like this month flew by? I feel like ever since January ended February and March went by so quick. I am so beyond ready for summer though so I hope it continues. If you couldn’t tell by all of my throwback pictures on Instagram (no shame). For some reason I have a feeling that this summer is going to be the one for the books. I mainly just am looking forward to warm weather and being able to drive with the windows down. I also leave for California in two months so it will be a great start with the warm weather!

Thank you Drybar for finally coming to Pittsburgh! I have used their products for years now and LOVE their dry shampoo. Honestly, it is a serious addiction. I am so happy that they finally put in a salon by my house. I recently went to get a blow out and was beyond happy with my experience. My stylist was extremely nice and knowledgeable which made the experience easy and fun. Not too mention, I had a glass of wine in the process which made me ecstatic. I highly recommend getting a blow out though, it made my hair feel amazing and for two days I didn’t have to blow dry my hair which for me is always such a hassle. I even picked up a few goodies to use at home! All in all, I definitely will be making numerous visits back!
